The Pelosi Club: Profile in courage?

Wed May 21, 2008 at 09:21:16 AM PDT

As we all know, there is a group of SDs who said they will give their vote to the leader of the pledged delegate count.  As of last night, that question has been answered.

So where are you Pelosi Club?

I personally think David Kroning and Rachel Maddow are right.  Hillary's not giving this thing up until the convention floor.

As I said in comments to David's diary:

What exactly do you think she means when she says "until we have a nominee?"

I personally think it's the one thing she hasn't lied about.  The Republicans do not currently "have a nominee" either.  We will not "have a nominee" until the convention, no matter what the delegate count, because the delegates can change their mind.

Some of the arguments she has made all along do nothing to effect elections.  They are directed at the superdelegates, and those same arguments continue.  She never would have pulled the thinly veiled 'white working class' voter card if she did not have every intention of bringing this to the convention floor.

...

I have no idea why people think June matters.  Her chances of winning the delegate battle has been minute for over two months.  It's not like something is going to happen in June that will make all the arguments she's been making suddenly go away.  Even the decision in Michigan and Florida won't matter, because no matter what happens, aside from counting 'as is,' she's going to keep complaining and making the same arguments until she reaches the convention floor.

Taking Clinton on her own words and under the definition of when a nominee is named, she IS taking this to the convention.  She says repeatedly she's not giving up until a nominee has been named, and no matter what the delegate count is, we will not name a nominee until the convention.

Nancy, her daughter, JC, and the other members of the Pelosi Club must step up now and stand behind the pledge they made months ago.  Waivering on which pledged delegates will be considered in determining who has a majority can not happen.  Waiting until we see what happens with Florida and Michigan does nothing other than to serve the BS narrative Hillary has been working for months now.

One thing and one thing only will stop Hillary from taking this to the convention floor, an en masse revolt against her by those SDs on the fence and those who have already pledged to Clinton.  It all starts with the Pelosi Club, who we should all call on to endorse by the close of the news cycle this afternoon.  Every minute they wait beyond that feeds the Clinton narrative and thus furthers the chance for defeat in November.
